For millennia, the precious metal has been associated with the glow and power of the sun, and high karat gold makes the connection clear. The saturated hue has a beautiful warmth and shine.

Gold alloys are softer in higher karats, so while this band once bore an intricate foliate-pattern engraving, it's been well loved and well worn, leaving only the traces of the engraved detail. The engraving remains a little crisper along the two sides of the band, giving a sense of the delicate swirling design.
