With sinuous whiplash lines, vertical asymmetry, plush gold texture, and a pop of colour from a (then cutting-edge) synthetic sapphire, this small statement ring is a dream of Art Nouveau aesthetics. More bold in style than the Edwardian styles that preceded and more natural in form than the Art Deco period that followed, there is a certain liquidity to Art Nouveau designs that has rarely been captured in metal outside of the period. The curve of the band and the garland-like drape around the settings give the solid object such a dynamic intensity, while the electric hue of the sapphire and dazzling dispersion of the diamond make the ring feel truly alive on your finger.

Very good antique condition with moderate wear in line with previous use, including minor evidence of past resizing and wear to sapphire.
