Clean lines and minimalist design meet romantic fancy-cut diamonds and symbolic motifs in this gorgeous mid-century ring. Crisply executed in white gold, this elegant take on a three-stone ring features a beautiful marquise-cut diamond flanked by slim tapered baguette side stones.
The marquise cut has experienced waves of popularity through her lifespan: designed c. 1745, in Paris for King Louis XV, who requested a diamond in the shape of his mistress' smile, the stone has inspired designers (and frustrated stone setters) ever since, reaching peak popularity from the 1950s-1980s. She appears to be making a ferocious comeback, unseating the oval and then pear shapes for those in search of a unique and flattering alternative to a classic round brilliant.
Three stone or trilogy rings have likewise enjoyed a rich tradition. Often interpreted as representing past, present, and future, we love them as much to celebrate a relationship as we do to mark personal achievements, milestones, and goals.
Though still wildly sparkly, the centre stone has a good pinch more warmth than the sides do, which is more or less obvious depending on the light source, and we have endeavoured to show the inclusions as best we can for your reference - in the third photo, you'll find some fractures towards 7pm on the stone, and in the fourth photo you can best see the dark pinpricks through the table. Please don't be afraid to reach out for any more details, and be sure to follow www.instagram.com/st.eloi or send us a message for videos showcasing this beautiful ring.
