Romantic Vintage Fede Eternity ring
Romantic Vintage Fede Eternity ring
The fede ring, from the Italian phrase "mani di fede," is distinguished by the figure of two hands (clasped in faith, per the translation) that has come to represent friendship, love, or engagement. The style of ring rose in popularity in medieval times, and was a popular choice for engagement rings and wedding bands for hundreds of years.
The early fede ring evolved into many forms, including elaborate gimmel fedes with multiple bands that entwined, to the modern claddagh ring where the hands clasp a crowned heart. This curious version features round panels each holding a stylized flower or compass, and an interior inscription. This ring would make a perfectly charming friendship or promise ring, wedding band, or even a piece to serve as a reminder to hold faith in yourself.
