A warm and rich take on a classic Victorian theme, this buckle ring is modelled in rosy 9k gold and set with a ruby and diamond. The buckle motif was well loved in Georgian and Victorian jewelry, representing eternity, fidelity, and a strength of love. Used in mourning pieces, friendship tokens, and wedding bands alike, it was a versatile symbol that also allowed for all kinds of variation in style.

The natural ruby is almost completely opaque, but adds to the warmth of the gold, that has deepened over time. The diamond, a round brilliant, is a later replacement but has plenty of character, with inclusions that lean towards salt and pepper, but still offers a lot of sparkle.

Please note the back of the ring - a previous resizing looks to have been stopped partway through, leaving the back unpolished with exposed solder seams. This is a simple fix, but due to the thinness of the band, we've decided to leave it untouched in case whomever loves this ring would like it resized first, so that we can minimize metal loss. The work to clean up the appearance of the band is included in pricing, so you just need to let us know if you'd like it sized or just polished and we will go from there!
