Lovely and detailed, this little squirrel - hidden inside a hard-won acorn - represents hard work and preparedness, foresight and resourcefulness. While it's easy to see their playful nature as they chase one another 'round tree trunks, they balance fun with a steady collecting and storing, an eye to the future and survival.

Very good vintage condition with wear in line with previous use, including some wear to enamel. Squirrel hinge is stiff and acorn closes securely.
